About

Angela Brown’s imprisonment is finally over, but she isn’t truly free. Her career in music is finished, and her reputation is ruined. When a handsome Maxwell man takes her by the hand and leads her out of captivity, she can’t let go. He’s her only source of comfort.

Policeman Paul Cannon is tired of fighting a never-ending war he can't win. Fed up with rampant corruption and abuse of prisoners, he longs for peace and a life somewhere he can make a difference. He’s drawn to the mute kidnapping victim he freed, but, unlike him, she comes from a life of wealth and privilege. Even if she consented to be his, her father would never allow it.

Just when Paul thinks he has bested the haughty Wallace Brown and gained the woman of his dreams, Angela’s talent proves to be the greater obstacle. Her music has the power to tear them apart.

Although the story is old fashioned, The Maxwell Brides Series contains violence, adult language and themes, and descriptions of physical intimacy. It is intended for mature readers.

Praise for this book

Ms Granger has done it again. When I started reading this, the descriptions were so vivid that I felt like I was there! She did a great job of describing the haze of shock/trauma in the beginning and it was wonderful to see how the character progressed. Avidly awaiting the next installment

Great read from beginning to end. As a musician and a mother, I especially loved this installment of the series. Looking forward to reading more from this author!
